Job Opportunity -Programme Officer (Advocacy)

Job Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Plan and organize specific activities with target groups and beneficiaries
  • Engage various community and stakeholders group on pressing youth issues, through traditional & social media.
  • Advocate for implementation of policies that affect young people.
  • Represent the organization on issues relating young peoples sexual reproductive health
  • Lobby policy maker & various stakeholders on youth SRHR issues
  • Liaise with project partners, which include government agencies, non-governmental organizations and other key stakeholders
  • Make presentations on the project on behalf of the organization
  • Support a young men’s network in influencing state policies on gender based violence.
  • Work with community advocates to strengthen advocacy skills
Minimum Qualifications and Competencies
  • Any first degree in the Medical and Biological Sciences.
  • Minimum of one year related working experience
  • Experience in Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health (ASRH) issues. Experience as a Peer Educator Trainer is an added advantage.
  • Information and Communication Technology (I.C. T) skills, including various social networking applications such as Facebook, Twitter, Yahoo Chat etc is necessary.
  • A Good sense of judgment and ability to take initiative. and carry out analysis.
  • Integrity, honesty and high sense of responsibility. 
  • Good communication, time management and interpersonal skills.  
  • Ability to work with a Team.
