2016 Earth Corps Program: EarthCorps
is currently inviting international groups and non-US citizens to join the
6-month international program for environmental restoration. EarthCorps is a
non-profit organization dedicated towards making a global community through
local environmental service.
EarthCorps offers intensive programs for young
people to teach them the best practices in conservation techniques
and develop skills in enthusiastic volunteers.
The
international corps member position is a 6-month service learning experience
with EarthCorps in Seattle, WA, USA. Young environmental leaders from countries
outside the United States will join US AmeriCorps members to develop skills in
environmental service, community building and leadership.
Corps
members spend 80% of their time in the field engaged in environmental
restoration projects throughout the Puget Sound region of Washington State.
Restoration is very physically demanding and takes place outdoors in all
weather conditions.
Program
Description
EarthCorps
brings together emerging environmental leaders from around the world to
participate in an environmental service program. EarthCorps programs focus on
physical hands-on field service that includes:
- Environmental restoration
- Community building
- Leadership
(40
hours a week, 7:30 am to 5:00 pm) Participants take part in environmental
restoration projects, such as invasive plant removal, tree-planting, trail
construction, and erosion control. Projects are located throughout Washington
State.

Qualifications
- Between 18-25 years old
- Experience in environmental field work and intercultural exchange
- Commitment to community service and previous experience in volunteer service
- Required Qualifications
- No Criminal Record
- Conversational English
- 4 year college degree and 1 year of work experience in the environmental field -OR- 5 years of work experience in the environmental field
