Brief Description:
SSG Advisors seeks local
candidates for a Private Sector Partnership Specialist for a potential
multi-year USAID-funded project. The position will focus on identifying and
building private sector partnerships aimed at improving health service delivery
and strengthening health systems. This Specialist will be based in Abuja, with
frequent travel to other states and Local Government Areas. This position
is contingent upon funding.
Responsibilities:
- The Private Sector Partnership Specialist will be responsible for developing and implementing a private sector strategy aimed at identifying and building shared value public-private partnerships to improve health services and systems, including health financing/investment. In close collaboration with the project team, the Specialist will be responsible for the following activities:
- Research the local private sector landscape, including local and international companies, investors, donors, institutions, and government entities to identify opportunities for partnership in support of project objectives;
- Conduct structured outreach to potential private sector partners aimed at building partnerships to promote health service delivery and health systems strengthening, including health financing and investment;
- Support the selection and structuring of targeted public-private partnerships to ensure they have clearly-defined, mutually-beneficial goals that are aligned with the project's strategic objectives;
- Build and maintain relationships with relevant stakeholders such as other USAID-funded projects, business associations, NGOs, government representatives, etc.
- Provide high-quality written technical inputs to the project team's strategic plan, work plan, and quarterly and annual reports covering all activities involving private sector outreach and the development of partnerships to promote health service delivery and health systems strengthening;
- Maintain a database of potential private sector partners, including key points discussed at meetings to track and monitor partnership progress;
- Maintain a transparent, comprehensive project file of all private sector activities;
- Help develop a system for monitoring, evaluating, and reporting the effectiveness of these partnerships, in collaboration with project M&E officer;
- Other relevant private sector engagement activities, as assigned by the project team and/or SSG home office staff.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in business, health, or another relevant discipline;
- At least 7 years of relevant work experience in Nigeria;
- Familiarity with the Nigerian health sector required;
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge of Nigerian private sector stakeholders required; familiarity with local private sector health sector actors preferred;
- A proven ability to work collaboratively with and build consensus among private and public sector stakeholders;
- Experience with working with stakeholders to develop international finance/investment projects preferred;
- Ability to work independently and effectively within tight deadlines;
- Proven experience developing high-quality written deliverables, such as project concept notes, work plans, and programmatic reports;
- Fluency in written and spoken English required; and
- Nigerian citizenship and residency required.
